Exclamation having timming issues need help

so i just got my car started earlier today (civic gsr swap turbo), was attempting to time it but when i was adjusting the distributor i could not get the timing to zero not exactly sure whats going on, it got late so i couldnt really mess with it to much. could the compression change from stock gsr to 9:5:1 have an effect on it and when doing a compression change like that would i have to advance or retard the timing just wondering if there is a reason i cant get it to 0 ( or were the single mark on the timing cover is)
any info will help

Single mark it TDC. You don't want to be timed there.
I believe the middle mark is 15*, which is where you actually want to be when the car is running idle.

Yep!

There are 3 marks on the pulley also. Base timing is the middle mark of the 3.

What ecu are u running? Is it a basemap? If so make sure that's set to where u want your base timing is supposed to be at.
