Default Y8 questions

So I have a few questions here...
For the longest time I thought my car was a EJ6 with a D16Y7, Because I never really looked in depth at the Vin or engine stamp. As it turns out my car is a EJ8 with a D16Y8 block and Y7 head, That being said the head must have been swapped at some point, So would a swap back to a Y8 head be plug and play? From the looks of it the vtec solenoid and everything is there still just not hooked to anything.

By saying the vtec items are there do u mean bolted to the head and not hooked to the harness?

So I did more research on it, Apparently the kid before me overheated and warped the original Y8 head and went the cheap route and got a Y7 head and didn't torque the head down right so this head is warped and burning hella oil, So I'm buying a Y8 head. HG is toast anyways so I can knock 2 birds with one stone.
