Sorry, if the car has been repainted I won't put paint protection film on it for a variety of reasons.

Well, I've had it twice now where the film turned into nothing but orange peel because of the solvents coming out of the paint still.

I haven't done it yet, but I've had plenty of friends that have. They go to install the film and stick it down, but then have to lift it and move it and rip all the paint off the car. Or a few years down the road they go to remove the film and rip off all the paint.

dan, how long after painting can you put a 3M bra on? why do the ones from factory work? what if it's 3M paint?

they say 30 to 90 days, but i've had enough problems and don't want anymore..

plus, who gets blamed when they do a poor paint job and the paint protection film rips off the paint? That's right...me, the last guy that touched it.

have you seen some of the factory installs? The worst install i've ever seen was on a ferrari below and behind the door. Yellow and didn't fit on a brand new car. I should have taken a picture but I didn't want to be that guy at the dealership taking pics.

between the solvents and the paint still crosslinking puttong ppf on new paint basically makes it permanent.

my new rule...no installs on repaints. It's not worth the problems and complaints.

I agree with this. I wouldn't put films on if the car has been repainted. You can, but just not recommended.
I use an OEM bra for my hood. I know the negatives of that, but I don't care, because it's my daily driver and Honda hoods are cheap any how. :P
