Just if it is safe to run a low compression motor without boost. I'm trying to break the motor in. I'm scare its gonna bog out.

The motor will run fine. It just won't make much power.
I hate low compression motors even with boost. My Civic and my S2k are boosted, one has a 10-1 motor and the other is 11-1.:D

should i keep stock gap on plugs?

for now that should be fine. but when u go to boost this thing you need to put a smaller gap on the plugs. cause the higher the compression the harder it is for the spark to fire.

Friend of mine had his gsr with 9:1 pistons in it, everything built for boost... broke it in like that, worked just fine, hell it even beat his 4dr gsr that had a rebuilt stock motor...

you will be ok. how low is your compression? its just like a LS. slow at the begining and fast at the end..LOL

broke my beast in with everything bolted up just always watched the boost gauge. Ran like a champ and was sorta quick. Worked for me!!

Your car will be fine. When you want to know if its broke in just do a leak down test to see if the rings are set. Either way you should be fine breaking it in with out the turbo or with.... just if you have it on it just take it nice and slow and go up and down hills. Just put a few hundred miles on of in town driving and then do a leak down test. If everything is across the charts you will be completely fine to start hitting boost :)
I every motor I have broke in I have done under boost.... But I also helped a friend build a fully built motor a few years back and we broke it in with out boost and it had 8 to 1 compression so you should be fine with out bogging down.

I agree with you completely on this. I think its funny how everyone thinks they need to go with low compression all the time. There is times when you need to (when building a full race car) and there are times when there is no point such as most street turbo'ed cars. You get a lot more quick response with a high compression motor. I am running stock compression in my motor with JE pistons and I have raced one of my buddys turbo'ed gsr's with just about the same setup but he has lower compression pistons and bigger injectors than me and I just kill him down low and I can spool a lot faster than he can. :D

I am as well running higher compression. Soon to be adding more boost and big injectors to support E85 and dual fuel pumps.

breaking in internals that are low comp without boost is fine.
the only thing youll probably notice is a loss of power and having your car be more sluggish.

100% agree.
Low Compression allows for a larger margin of error for tuning, which is why for higher horsepower builds, low comp is desired.
however with an excellent tuner, you can run high comp and be fine, just be aware that if the car leans out even a bit on a high compression turbo engine, you may face damages to your motor (which is why you need an excellent tuner)

i have close to stock compression on my built d16, somewhere in the neighborhood 9:1. aiming for 30lbs in the springtime so that compression suits me.

Break it in hard on the dyno. That is what I'll be doing. Taking it to the dyno. I hate to break it N/A than later install everything again.
