if your wastgate hole is already pointing down...then maybe not but if its pointing anywhere else you should have a dump tube because it blows hot air that should be routed out of the engine bay...its kinda like an exhaust for the car except for your turbo....i think haha

Heat rises.. I would advise having/finding/getting a new one. Necessary though, I guess not :thumb:

Not needed to run the car but needed for it to work correctly. Wastegates are usually not far from the turbo. If your hitting boost sucking in all that exhuast gas your messing things up quite a bit. People have gained pretty large amounts of power running even just a longer dumptube from the turbo. I happen to know of a guy who picked up 60hp with the only mod being a dt... Granted it could have been alot of things that caused it but its still "the legend of the 60 hp dumptube".

I wouldn't drive my car without one. Your turbo sucking in exhaust will suck shit for performance. Ideally the DT would be as far back as your firewall. My firewall can't be sealed, because in boost a magical smoke comes from my dash, and it smells like corn tortillas. I DO run mexican E85 though.
