So, I'm really just rambling things that I've been finding/trying on my car, in hopes that someone, someday, will benefit from what I've experienced.
I went out for a good hour the other day, and fine tuned my shit (meet day, actually, which I missed because of a wedding).
Anyways, I got 1-6 on the low cam reading 14.68-14.83, tightened up considerably. I ran out of time to tweak the rest of the high load, and high cam, but they were close enough for now.
The car ran bitchin awesome, and I threw it in closed loop and took it home.
Over the next couple of days, the little spikes I was seeing in datalogs were starting to bug me, so I decided to add the noise filtering capacitors, per the PLX install instructions.
I used the caps they provided, and ran one off the WB, and one off the NB, per their instructions, and wired them together, and to the chassis ground on the A cluster.
After that point, shit started getting weird.
My voltage offset for the WB would drift around while I was driving, as much as .8 V!
On top of it, the car WOULD NOT stay where it should when in closed loop.
Everything was fine in open, and the second you turned on closed, it would jump to 15.8-16.5:1 AFR's.
It didn't matter if the car was actually using closed loop or not. Even under high load/WOT (where closed loop shouldn't be operating), the AFR's would stay lean.
Finally, I said "Fuck it", and cut the caps back off.
Everything is well again.
I guess I'll just have to live with the slightly noisy datalogs/occasional spikes on the gauge.
Now...to finish fine tuning.
