Hey guys, sorry if im starting to get annoying with all the questions i've been asking, but you have been very helpful. I have run into another problem, my cams and head are not in very good condition. Here is a link to the pics:

Im not sure if its possible or not but a friend of mine thought that you could possibly buy inserts (bearings I spose) and mill down the cams. Or if I basicaly have to buy new cams and head?

The second question I have is when I was removing the cam caps (i bought the Building a B Series Engine book and it says each cap is numbered and has an arrow pointing towards the front of engine) and I noticed that the preivious owner had cap 3 backwards. cap 2 and cap 4 were both pointing the same direction with the arrow pointing towards the cam gears. But cap 3 was pointing the other direction. Dont know if this is something terrible, or if its not that big of deal and just fix uppon rebuild? I also have that pic in the album in that link.

Thanks

Ive heared of that.. and wondering if thats a possibility for mine? So what do you do if you line bore what do you do for cams? Can you order oversized cam journals on new cams?

Depends on damage.

I have a head I carnaged like that, and I was told the line bore would be more than the $400 a new(used) head might cost.

that head looks to be done for unless like everyone else stated spending a good chunk of money to repair it. You best bet would be to look for a new head.

Most likely the cylinder head will need to be line bore and have bearing inserts install but at that point your better off getting a good condition used cylinder head. Not many shops around the metro area have the experience nor the proper machine to line bore smaller cam journals.
