Automatic accord is running funny...

So my 98 accord was running perfectly fine, but now outa nowhere when i hit the gas and go it seems as if the accord is on neutral and just rev the engine. this is most annoying when im at a red light and hit the gas to go, but it doesnt... it takes like 3-5 seconds for the car to switch into the next gear and go... anyone know whats going on with my car? ways to fix it???

Trany might be going out...
Best bet is to get a new tranny

Make sure the tranny fluid isn't way low, if it is you prob have a leak. Chances are it just decided to grenade tho if it just suddenly one day starting doing that to ya

Check the solenoid screens for blockage. They look like C cell batteries. They just unbolt.

also just changing the transmission oil may be worth a shot. My civic was having issues like this to the point where when i floored it it would slip and the engine would hit the rev limiter and not even engage the next gear until i took my foot off the gas. Changed the atf fluid which was black as coffee (go figure) and that fixed everything.

98 v6 or 4 cyc? The 98-02 Honda accords have horrible transmission, most likely your transmission is in its way out.

so problem fixed! transmission fluid was low... n yup i gotta leak, but at least i know whats going on now! thanks u guys!
