Mix and match car swap race event

Mirage22 had an interesting idea the other day.

Since we don't have any real competitive drag racing in the area, he came up with the idea that we could have a car swap drag event. Price of admission would be $10-20, and a reasonably proven car [don't bring your mom's/GF's/sister's Impala/G6 or other DD and expect to drive someone else's boosted Honda/Evo], with the money going to a payout for 1st, 2nd and 3rd.

What we would do is swap cars with each other at the track, obviously with someone we trust driving our car.

We would each run a minimum of 2 runs in the car to get used to it and get tips on the car from the owner. We would set up an elimination ladder and let the cards fall where they may, for a piece of the pot.

It would have to be set up bracket style to even the playing field, with the driver setting a dial-in. For more flavor, the owner could set the dial-in, as long as we play honest, it should be fair.

I'm sure we could get this into a Street Legal event at TopEnd in Sabin.

So you're not into it, that's cool, I still think its a good idea.

We're not saying hand your car off to someone you don't know, bring a friend to swap rides with.

I think it would be a fun, especially for people that like to give each other crap about how slow/fast a car runs.

I think we need some competitive racing, the mix and match idea works up here with the people that come out to race regularly.

i totally see where youre going with this it seems fun
but not much people are going to let other people drive their car it could be a really big issue if something happened while the other driver was driving the car.

That's one of the interesting swaps, turbo cars and NA cars behave completely differently. I think that was one of the inspired concepts behind this, it gives people a chance to run a differently set up car.

All the time and money people put into there cars, I don't think a lot would swap them. I think its a good idea I just doubt people will be interested. Just my .02

I'm most likely going to put my H2B in, I would swap with Mirage, Honda_Farmer, or at least two other people I can think of off the top of my head.

I'm also not talking about the H2B in its current sorry state, I'm talking when its "done", for next season at least.

itll be fun for sure trying out other cars kinda same level with yourselves but i can see a couple of good buddies doing it but imagine you drive someone's car down the 1/4 and BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOM

yes you are right on with that your car can go booooom anytime!

meaning this is a high risk for 100 bucks(i know money isnt the big picture its having fun)
just its a realllllly high risk for you and the other guy i mean do you pay for the engine or do the owner

We may do it here next season for fun, I thought I would open it up to anyone who might be interested.

If its not for you, that's cool. We'll probably do it at the street legal drags, which I encourage you to come up for anyway.

maybe you could just switch it to a event that Calls someone out race type thing for cash
where of course you call someone out with same or relatively same power as your own and put cash on the line
