My h22a4's valve train is shot I believe. Before I started any work on it, I wanted to give some thought to upgrading.

If I go with a performance valve train, what other internal upgrades should I also consider (Pistons, rods, cams...) and what manufacturers do you prefer? Which should I stay away from?

Also, I'm staying n/a, so I guess that'll make a difference in whats required from the interals.

I'm aware that with new valve trains there is head work needed to be done also can anyone go over that too?

I've google and researched all of this, I just need opinions and clarifications. I have an idea for parts, but I just want your bias opinion...

I had different intentions when I started this thread, so the name 'junk it or fix it' is wrong.

I will be fixing it.

You don't need to upgrade your interals, bc it's pointless unless. Upgrade your interals if you to rev higher like 10k rpm or something. I don't know too much about h22 but most hondas comes with forge cranks and forged rods with aluminum cast piston. But with the h22 it's a little different it might be hyperutective pistons or something. Another way to bump compression is to deck your head so your piston to valve clearance is closer. But make sure you still have adequate piston to valve clearance. I say get set of Valves(supertech, ferrea, skunk2 but I have heard that supertech makes skunk2 valves. Some correct me if I'm wrong) get good set of dual valve springs for intake and exhaust. Make sure you get springs that are stiff enough for the camshaft you are using.

Get your head ported and a valve job while it's all taken apart. Pm me for machine work

it depends on what you want to do and your goals for the motor. What are your plans?
