I highly recommend this for anyone looking to get into autocross/road racing. It was extremely helpful to me, and the instructors were top notch. not to mention you get a whole lot of seat time compared to other autocrosses!
quick question Charles (I think this is you? :D), are you guys doing intermediate school this year?

i'm in even if my ef will no be ready....
We may be autocrossing in Milwaukee that weekend, but I highly recommend intermediate school. I went two years ago and it was very, very helpful. The instructors were an even higher level of talent. The people who instructed were 2nd, 2nd, 3rd, and 1st in their classes at Nationals. Including Minnesota's first open SCCA National Champion, Keith Beumer. You really cannot find a more qualified group of instructors without paying buku bucks.

Safety inspection is just seatbelt, turn signals, ect?
Probably going to go to this. Sounds like its a good time
Bah, I got word that the April Novice school is probably getting cancelled due to snow removal storage at the Midway site. :(

Safety inspection is battery tied down, brakes in good working order and no loose items in the car. Some times they want the floor mats out.
but why would you need turn signals?

I was a bit worried about that; I work off of Energy park and happened to drive by there and the lot is full of snow. That's going to suck.

4The April class room session primer is still on. June Novice school should still be as scheduled though registration wouldn't be open for a few more weeks.

We have to pass inspection for a classroom section? I'm confused. So there's no track time in April and now it's a free classroom session at dunwoody? For some reason I can't view the link on my phone and I'm at work I'll check it out when I get home. I'm a noon and want to do this.

no. You must pay $50 dollars to attend Novice school which includes a classroom session and car inspection along with driving time.
you will not pass inspection with a missing lug nut. Get that fixed.

Fail Alex, There is no April racing session due to the lot at midway stadium being used for snow storage. So there is a class portion at dunwoody that is free for ppl to attend which you still have to sign up for on myautoevents.com It's just a class/orientation and there is NO track day with it. There is in June however which is the second novice class.
Good grief Charles where are you? lol

Classroom session is free and there is NO tech inspection for the April class since there is no driving session. they may cover tech Inspection details so you know what you need to fix.
Basics:
Good tires
No loose items in car, to be removed.
Battery tied down
No missing lugs/lugnuts
Good fluid levels
No hanging/loose wires
No fluid leaks
No loose engine bay components
No loose suspension/brake components
I may have missed some, but these are what I look for before I go.

I dont understand how youre not scared having 1 of your 4 lugs missing

I say 3/4 is still pretty good. It's when your 2/4 that it gets scary. I saw a girl with a teg and she was missing half her lug nuts all the way around the car. I think 1 wheel had 3/4 but otherwise she was rolling 2/4 on 3 of the wheels. She scared me and her teg looked like it was falling apart anyways. Very sad really.

True. Battery tie down would be the least of my worries.

ive had it that way for a few years now because i didnt feel the need to replace it given that i would have to do the bearings when i did the stud so i waited, and apparantly when my lower ball joint started to have some rubbing issues i took care of it all at once earlier today so now im covered. damn tegs why couldnt you be easy like the egs when replacing broken studs :mad1:

oh and btw alex how do you like the feel of koni yellows with the tein s techs? under dd and possibly autoxing
AlexD
03-11-2011, 08:17 AM
Ive had no issues with my setup. In fact, I might part out the Stechs for ground controls so I can control height so let me know if you want to buy em.
Koni yellows ftw! being able to adjust strut dampening is awesome.

you can, and I plan to do it on the rear. But if I ever plan to run some taller sidewall tires, I dont think I would be able to adjust the fronts enough to accommodate.

Is the classroom session the same exact class both April and June

I would assume it is. Even if it is it's a good primer for those who have never gone to an autox event. Great info.
